Four seasons in one day and even the so common duo of Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops Truncatus) and Pilot Whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) were on today’s menu. Winters in macronesian islands can often end up rainy, windy… only a few minutes later the sun shines, which then ends up in beautiful rainbow and today we had all the above. Those two dolphin species (yes Pilot Whales do actually belong to the family of dolphins) are often seen together. Mostly peaceful, although they have also been observed fighting each other. Also, those are two of the few species that stay loyal to Madeira’s waters and we are able to observe pretty much all year around.
