Today we had a guest on board who was on Ribeira Brava 15 years ago. He also experienced the first team of Ribeira Brava, Rafa, as a captain and Claudia as guide. He looked for the boat for a long time and today there was a reunion.
On our morning tour we had to go far out to meet a school of the Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). They were active in many sub-groups. Some animals socialised, others mated or surfed in the bow of the fishing boat. The atmosphere was almost like on a sunny summer day in the swimming pools, everyone was splashing around.
Even in the afternoon it was a long way out. Our spotter had a good view of the distance. He discovered something huge for us, a Sei whale (Balaenoptera borealis). However, this baleen whale was reserved. The Atlantic spotted dolphins, however, not at all, they were once again interactive.
