The most amazing part about our Job as Whale watching guides is not just to observe majestic sea creatures the whole day and to be in our favorite environment of the open Atlantic ocean, but also to share this passion and knowledge with you guys!
Work is so much more fun if we can share excitement with our guests.. And at this point a thank you for todays guests for all the questions and good vibes today!
We shared the first two tours of the day with beautiful pods of Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus). From distance the Bottlenose looked very active and unlike their common behaviour, breaching and leaping. As we approached they calmed down and slowly moved around our boat. The Atlantic Spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) in their typical behaviour greeted us int their best way, breaching towards the boat. Last but not least we had the pleasure of meeting the Pilots of the sea (Globicephala macrorhynchus) gracefully as they are and logging at the surface.
To put the cherry on the cream, the beautiful Rough-toothed dolphins (Steno bredanensis) came and visited us again after their travel north up the Atlantic. From distance they showed a lot of activity, breaching multiple times. Closer to the boat they were calm, curious and very faithfull towards our boat. Theyre behaviour is just so unpredictable and always fascinating!
We can’t wait for more days like these!
