There were contrasts in the morning. Active Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) and resting Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus). Everyone needs to take a break and breathe out.
In the evening we started with Bottlenose dolphins. Then we went to a special sighting. The Pilot whales were led by a female Blainville’s beaked whale (Mesoplodon densirostris). Such a special situation. I’ve never seen a combination like this. What do these two marine mammal species have in common? Their favourite food, squid! Some of it was floating on the surface of the sea.
