After a few days being on land because of the weather conditions we could go out again and were greeted by beautiful Common dolphins. There are two different types of this species: Long beaked – and short beaked Common dolphins. Here, we only meet the Short beaked version. The estimated number of the Northern population is around 500.000 animals, in temperate zones around 300.000 animals. In the Black Sea and Mediterranean Sea the numbers dropped down immensely but it is not clear why. Unfortunately we were not successful in our search for dolphin this afternoon, but we saw three Loggerhead turtles, all in the same area. Very interesting!
