Due to the weather conditions, we couldn’t leave port as usual YET we had so many SPECTACULAR, SPECIAL and UNIQUE encounters in our Blue Office and today was one of them! The morning started with a calm travelling group of Bottlenose dolphins, which swam in direction South-East. We met the star of this trip a bit later, an immense huge Sun fish. He was absolutely not shy and checked out Ribeira Brava. Lots of little fishes swam around him like a court. Mola Mola (scientific name) are enormous round and huge (3,3m in diameter). They have a fin on top and at the bottom and a cute kiss mouth. The Sunfish weights up to 1t and is the heaviest bony fish in the world. Since they are normally deep down in the ocean, we see them very rarely. Here we would like to thank our very nice Spanish couple who filmed this big fish. We are very excited to see the video and it is very kind to share it with us. If we would have an “Oscar Award” of the most amazing sightings of this week, this Mola mola would definitely be nominated by me! This is a matter of taste and remains up to you. And hopefully the personal sighting is always the best… so, on this note we announce…. “And the winner is …?”
