March will close with an afternoon trip on Ribeira Brava. Some of our guests were astonished about the way the ocean was moving. Much less then in the past days, but still with a big swell. Far, far way there might have been strong winds around which are felt here around our island as swell. We mustn’t forget that we are in the middle of the Atlantic. From here to Africa it’s 600km, till Europe it’s 800km, South America is 3.400km and North America even 4.200km far away. Our sighting today was a big pod of Bottlenose dolphins, socializing and active around the boat and constantly heading west. I think they were resident animals, not on their way to America, but living around Madeira island.
