Fatima Kutzschbach – Guide

Since 2005 Fatima started working on the Canary Islands, Acores, New Zealand, Baja California and Dominican Republic in the field of Whale Watching. Her professional background is an Ecological Education training.

In 2012 she moved to Madeira and since then she has been working for Lobosonda as a marine guide. With heartiness she always takes a considerate look to our guests. She loves to share her many years of knowledge and manifold experience as well as her passion to advocate for the protection of cetacean and the ocean itself with our guests.

For Fatima, a soft and respectful approach during an encounter with cetaceans comes always first. Since Lobosonda´s philosophy meets exactly her expectations it was an easy decision for her to work with the company.

For her the chance of working in small, individual groups makes it a very personal contact possible. Sharing the enthusiasm for these wonderful animals and the diversity of these ocean inhabitants jointly with our guests is pure luxury and a truly good gift for her. She just loves to bring this blue world closer to others. To stand up for the protection of these animals and to create a win-win situation gives a deeper meaning to her work. Even after all these years it is still always new, exciting and heart-touching to get a look into the rich world of whales and dolphins.

One of the most wonderful parts during a sighting is jumping into an absolute experience of being in the moment now, a very intense momentum. What can be more fulfilling as sharing this with guests and experience when they are touched as well? The admiration for the beauty of nature, the passion for this ocean world that you experience every day, surely there is nothing better than she can imagine. Photography allows her to capture these special encounters with whales and dolphins. She hopes a beautiful photo will bring back memories to our guests later on.

Although she loves all marine mammals the Atlantic Spotted dolphins are her favorites. These lively, interactive dolphins inspire her every single time. These small, bubbly animals make her just happy.
